Acura TLX How to replace rear brake pads and rotor with (electronic e-brake) no service tool

Acura Tlx
Changing rear brake pads and rotor on a 2015 2016 2017 acura tlx without a scan tool. Note I’m not responsible if you attempt this it can possibly void your warranty. I’ve had no problems so far with the brakes whatsoever. Thanks to Southern Mechanic for giving me permission to use a clip of his video. Check out his full video

IMO it's easier to install the caliper bracket then install the pads in the bracket.

Fen Zhang says:

Messed up the screw 43229-TY2-A01 after using smaller torx bit tool clockwise instead of counterclockwise and use minus tool instead of T45 should have watched this video before removing.

I know about trying to twist these in as I damaged the passenger rear of
my RLX and now have to find a replacement from a used parts supplier,
much more reasonable than the dealer and I can replace it myself…funny
how you break something, then become an expert at it!!!!! Thanks again
for great video footage, I have learned to research before touching
these newer autos. I have found a replacement caliper assembly for just
under $69.05, verses a new one at the dealer for almost $845, I have
installed it last Saturday so all done. All of these EPB systems push straight back in regardless of the make and model of the manufacturer, hopes this helps in the future.

I thought these honda/acura rear calipers just push in and not screw in after using the T-45 to turn the electronic parking brake module clockwise!!!!

Cazzie Carothers says:

Do the front brakes on the TLX require the special tool to collapse the caliber?

Candy Man says:

What size screw did you use to push the rotor off

Chan Werks says:

Time 5:38 ment screw holding the rotor*
7:30 used brake cleaner to take residue off the rotor that keeps it from rusting
10:50 I lubricated the brackets and corners of brake pad.
