When i was disconnecting door handle and lock rods….I was so pissed i got damn scratched a lot on my arms and it took almost two hour. Please just find local mechanic and finish up this horrible job. DIY is not always funny.

Why do the manufactures _always_ make the doors such a pain in the ass to work on? 😛

Philip Raedcher says:

I had no trouble at all. Just remember he said to use a no. 3 phillips 🙂

Philip Raedcher says:

THANK YOU SO MUCH! It looks way easier when you do it but I got it done in about 1.5 hrs. Thanks again for all the help 🙂

I have no idea how to get those three big screws on the door loose. I’ve already almost stripped them and they just do not want to budge. It’s really pissing me off…

… part was getting those three big screws off the door. I almost killed those in the first attempts.

weeesh says:

thanks for posting. I successfully swapped out mine yesterday. the hardest

nbpgt says:

just completed over the holiday wknd. toughest parts were:
1-getting the largest white wire connector for the control panel at left arm. just muscle it with a screw driver.
2- getting those 3 philips screws to break holding the door latch. i damn near stripped the head off.
3- disconnecting the 2 rods and figuring out where. the thinnest rod disconnects at the top. the thicker rod just above the actuator both you have to flip/swing this little plastic holder for the rods to release.
THX

Thanks for making this. Maybe I’ll actually attempt it this weekend.

Would the entire assy need to be removed in order to replace that cable? The cable that goes from the lock to the lever? Thanks.

MrKevgomes says:

thanks for the video… it reminded me why i paid to have it fixed LMAO

Just finished replacing my actuator. Thank you so much for the video, it took much stress out of the project!

A high quality #3 screwdriver helped a lot. I made a mistake connecting a lock cable to the inside door handle, had to take the door apart again. The cable has a rubber guide that snaps into a metal bracket on the door cover.

Thanks so much guys. I replaced the actuator.

Thanks for doing this. While the trickiest part of the job is the stuff inside the door you can’t see on the video, this was still very useful for me when I did it.

Lol thank u guys

How do you replace the ceiling light its hard ive read the manuel but it doesnt tell you anything

An excellent video. I appreciate that you covered the issue of tools needed. That is the place where many people (like me) get into trouble with something half taken apart and discovering you need a special tool. Also, the fast-forward video technique helps a person get a view of the entire project and gain confidence that no tricky parts were omitted. For the future, I would suggest expanding on the description of how you diagnose the problem and select a solution. Well done!
