In this video, I will show you step-by-step, how to change the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor on a 2000 Acura 3.2 TL. Please subscribe and help me reach my goal. Watch the video for all tools and materials used to perform this maintenance service. This car was experiencing rough idling and other symptoms of poor ignition timing.

Why is this needed?
Code P0300 Random misfire
Code P1399 Random multiple cylinder misfire
Code P0302 Cylinder #2 misfire
Code P0303 Cylinder #3 misfire

The “check engine” light came on and these four codes were generated in just one start in my driveway. No codes ever appeared about the cam sensor or the crank sensor, but the symptoms persisted for a long time and it was getting worse. The car already has new spark plugs and new coil over plugs in all 6 cylinders.

I just bought a 2003 Acura TL that won’t go past 3000 rpm, if it goes past 3000 the car jerks constantly , if put in manual mode and shifted before 3000 rpm it will get all the way up to speed do you think this could be the problem ?

Landover Rob says:

Man I got lucky it was just broken wire from the pigtail

Zabdiel Perez says:

The crankshaft sensor can prevent the car from starting even if you have spark, fuel AND air?? I dont have any misfire codes but the car only cranks

Mark J says:

600,000 miles? Incredible. You took great of that car. I kind of let mine go but now I want to fix it up. Good job!
