►If your car is experiencing a loss of power, or (specifically for GTIs) CEL codes P2293 (fuel pressure regulator malfunction code) or P310B (fuel pressure below specification code), then you may need to replace your fuel filter and low-pressure fuel pump. Our Event Director, Nathan Brown, encountered these issues and decided to not only replace the fuel filter and low-pressure fuel pump, but the fuel control module as well to ensure the symptoms were eradicated.
What are the symptoms of a bad fuel pump on your Mk5 VW GTI?
-Low power/engine sputtering
-Decreased gas mileage
-Low performance at high ambient temperatures
-Inconsistent throttle/acceleration
-Engine won’t start/fire

I have a 08, 1.4TSI and just got the P2293 error. Revlimited to 3000rpm. Might be the HPFP :C
Thank you for the good cámara focus on the fuel filter clips. I saw a video last week and did not see the clips. I forced and ripped off the ends of the old filter and now its a mess, but it works.

I get a P0089 hanged the cam follower and sensor on the high pressuer fuel pump. fuel filter is new. could it be the fuel regulator?

So you are not sure what is the fault and thus you replace everything. Maybe get the car to a real mechanic ? LOL
How much different would all this be for a vw cc 3.6? I’m presuming it’s pretty much the same?
