Take your 4 stroke drama and shove it elsewhere, I will run TCW3 with oil injection
so basically it looks like you drilled one bearing half that you shouldn't have because that's the bottom half of number 2 or 4 Journal and you missed Drilling the number 3 Journal bearing. the bearing that controls thrust the one that's odd shaped and not like the rest it goes in the middle of the block number 3 Journal the one that's odd shaped and not like the rest it goes in the middle of the block lol. this video is not accurate on installing oil restrictors in Big Block Oldsmobile

lol Billy there's a few steps that aren't in the book and that you can't find anywhere you have to know these few steps to get the full advantage of the book its experience! and also the number three main Journal should have the right bearing in it for crank thrust lol the steps that aren't in the book our secrets
This is like watching the man saw a large tree limb he is standing on.
If the block is cracked, junk it. I use the very best Oldsmobile block, the Oldsmobile diesel block. The metallurgy is superior.
Much much stronger block and the cylinder walls are so much thicker and the decks so much thicker and the crankcase so much thicker. I do not use thin wall cast blocks. I find Oldsmobile cars in back yards, people pay me to haul the Oldsmobile diesel away. This is the Oldsmobile block they used in prostock Oldsmobile cars in the 80s and 90s.
Please use a Vice to hold bearings
all you jet boat guys make sure you have a pressure relief valve in the cooling system if running on the jet pump
thank you for your videos, im building my first olds, what clearances did you have done on your rods and main bearings, or what is recommended for a marine 455 , thank you for any advice, ive done all the oil mods you've shown and I feel great about them. thank you
Restrictors? The 455 i ran in my v-drive hydro came straight out of a vista cruiser wagon.Oil mods? I pulled the crank and had it ground so bearings set up@ .0025 rods .0035 mains. HV oil pump with the spring shimmed, a modded oil pickup tube from a v-drive BBC and a 10qt pan. Pulled the heads and drilled the shit out of the drain backs and bolted the back on with modello head gaskets and new bolts. Made 60 psi oil pressure hot and 2k rpm and 75@ 5k….put 125hrs on it with no failures.
Ran it wot @ 5k for 2 min. a bunch of times and 4-4500 for hours. no restrictors of any kind. Tore it apart when i swapped in the BBC…i would not give a second thought about putting it back together and running it.
You have great skills. Unfortunately the Olds is better used for a marine anchor 🙂
