I had received the “extended warranty” letter Chevy had sent out. I took my
’03 Duramax to the Chevy dealer in Monohans TX to have it repaired. They
call back telling me it does not meet the criteria for the warranty but 3
injectors are bad and it would be $3400 to replace the 3 injectors. I
called Chevy and they agreed to split the cost with me. This obviously
pissed off the Dealer and he kept the truck for 4 weeks to replace the 3
injectors. When it was finally ready I drove it a total of 150 miles and it
blew up. I had them come get the truck and then they tell me it was the
high pressure fuel pump had gone out and it cost me another $1500 to get
the truck fixed again. I learn by hard knocks and this one was pretty hard.

I since learned the Dealer was very much probably lying about the
injectors. I learned that all 8 should have been replaced. And I learned
that Chevy Dealer and the service manager are pieces of shit.

But shit its almost cheaper to buy a replacement engine than change all 8
injectors!! that’s fucking stupid, there is no part of the injector or the
manufacturing of it that justifies the cost. A person can build a 2000+ hp
blown alcohol motor cheaper than you can rebuild a diesel engine…wheres
the logic?

Socalledhanger says:

Does that also apply for cummins engines in dodges thanks.

Install video will come at a later date. We did not name any specific
brands because there are so many. Pretty much any tuner will check your
balance rates. Also most local auto parts store will have scanners and they
will scan your vehicle for free.
