how much HP ?
dyno ?
what is sound resonator tube ?
I install one on my 2013 FR-S. Looks Good and sounds good.. chk engine
light never came on. 🙂 very happy whit the product
no u dont need to.. but u can squeezea few more HP and mpgs with a tune
No it will not; it is a bolt-in system that requires no tuning or
additional modifications.
If I could post links I would post it. FT86 forums has plenty of dyno’s.
People trying to sell there airaid intakes cant even sell them because of
independent dyno testing done by many customers.
And there are an equal number of positive dyno results. Most of the alleged
negative dyno results have long since been exposed for having flawed
testing procedures.
when i become a owner of the gt86, i will buy your intake ^-^
That’s bullshit, its all marketting
How so? They are all US-made stainless steel.
This kit is currently undergoing CARB certification. If New York recognizes
CARB (California Air Resources Board) approval (most other states do), then
it will be legal in New York as well.
No, it most certainly does not.
I see the information for “oiled” and “non oiled” filters in the end.
Which is the one I will need with my 2012 FRS if this is a new kit I am
installing?
sir, is my MAF sensor won’t go crazy with this upgrade? i like your product
Those hose clamps are cheap shit
what are some number gains?
Ordered one yesterday…..had eibach lowering springs and greddy cat back
exhaust installed already. Can’t wait to hear and feel the growl.
What is the general advantage/difference between the two?
no it doesnt
I was looking at this kit on your website. Does the kit come with a filter
like the one shown in the video or is the kit just the housing and tube? In
the video he goes through all the pieces I just want to confirm that the
air filter does come with the kit.
Not true.
As far as oiled vs. dry? The oiled filter will go longer between cleanings,
but the dry filters are easier to maintain. They are both backed by a
lifetime warranty, flow virtually the same, and look the same. Really it
just depends on whether or not you prefer oiled or dry filters.
Removing the resonator gives the engine a more aggressive sound, but it
doesn’t really impact performance in a positive or negative way.
Kn drop in gives you 4hp gain lol got one in mine right now
It’s really a matter of personal preference, as both filter the same and
flow within 5% of one another. If you like oiled filters, then go with
that. If you prefer not having to re-oil during service, then a dry filter
might be a better option. It just depends on individual needs and
priorities. Thanks!
Last time I installed a cold air intake the check engine light came on. Im
afraid that this will happen again. That MAS needs to be in the factory
spot right?
did you bought it yet?
As long as you follow the directions and disconnect the battery during
installation, the kit will bolt right on and there will be no check engine
lights. The kit locates the MAF sensor properly, so there shouldn’t be any
issues at all. Just bolt it on and go!
I like how the design is a box and keeps the heat away. Imo if i had a frs
or brz id get one of these.
Yes, the kit absolutely includes the filter! You have your choice of either
an oiled filter or a dry SynthaMax; there’s only about $10 difference
between the two.
is this product street legal in the sate of new york because i know the AEM
version intake is not legal in most states because of the emissions please
let me know
Just got this car n I’m lovin it about to buy this cai
I seriously doubt the +5hp/tq numbers with this system….
What’s the difference if you keep or don’t use the sound resonator tube.
Please explain to me I don’t know what it does
5hp wow…dont think its worth the price. Is there a tune for this yet?
Combined with a cai may get 10-15 hp that would be noticeable but still
prob not worth the steep coin. Drop in may be a better choice unless you
want sound.
Great news. Let us know how it works out for you.
best is to go the drop in filter route. You need a tune if you want this
intake to not lose any power even if u get one your better off getting a
better intake than this
