Hey man, thank you for taking the time to show how to handle those cables!
I don’t know how I would’ve figured out how to get my stereo out without it.
@doza146 I bought the wiring harness from Autozone. Search for “stereo
wiring harness” in the Product Search field. The harness will contain a set
of wires with one plastic connector on one end; this is the end that
connects to the factory wiring harness behind the radio. The other end of
the set of wires contains free hanging wires (instead of a plastic
connector). The reason there is no plastic connector is because there is no
universal connector that will fit every after market stereo.
very helpful video. I had found the little screws behind the cup holders
myself but didn’t know about the wires below the wheel and glove box.
Thanks a lot!
@AAxx993093kdkdk K thats actually where i was just gonna go get it because
i was looking online at other places and i found about 3 different ones and
im not sure which one it is
@AAxx993093kdkdk I have been trying to find documentation on whether or not
the stock stereo in the Hyundai Accent has a 3.5mm Line-in jack on the
back. I didn’t look like it from your video but I wanted to see if you knew
(or anyone else knows). Thanks
@AAxx993093kdkdk I was wondering where you are going to get the wiring
harness from i am going to replace the head unit on my friends exact same
car and im not to sure where to get the wiring harness for this model
please help
Great video! Replaced my stereo with a new Sony stereo following your
instructions. Only differences is I didn’t need to fully remove the glove
box. And removing those metal clips were much harder than you showed it to
be. Could be my fragile girl fingers weren’t strong enough to push in the
clips. But eventually I got them off, not without some blisters the next
day. The whole thing was actually really easy. Thanks!
I drive a 2000 accent gl. Would you say the two (being in the LC year
category) are similar in regards to center console removal? I’m doing this
to replace my cup holders, as they were broken when I purchased it.
I wish I would have found this video when I was fixing my friends stereo in
her 2002 Accent. this is a great help as I will be hooking up an amp and
sub in her car today. Thank you Sir for posting this video.
@doza146 You will need to “connect” the free hanging wires to the free
hanging wires that will come as part of the aftermarket stereo you have
bought. Good luck.
DUDE! I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!! I struggled with this for 2 days not
wanting to undo the cables, I did EVRYTHING backwards and lost several
small pieces behind the dash. Your video helped me salvage a DISASTER!!!
THANK YOU for taking the time to make this!!!
lol ok I recently invested in an MP3 stereo installation because when i
bought my 2004 Hyundai Accent used it had a tape stuck in the assembly. I
just got fed up with removing all that dash shit and literally took a
hacksaw and cut the bezel in two places under the radio port. works and it
looks like its part of the design.
too late i pried the thing like a mad guy…
lol
i’m happy to know there was a way to do it properly… :)
Really helped me out, thanks for posting.

do i take it out without breaking it?
thanks man
@actuatorfulcrum cool informative comment
With a right angle ratcheting screw driver of course..
@foxglove9 I have had more difficulty with the metal clips in my 1999
Accent, so I understand what you mean. Glad you were able to complete the
job.
good work bro, keep it up
Very Helpful. Thanks
@ AAxx993093kdkdk I was wondering where you got your wiring harness from
@doza146 The key is to make sure the harness states it is for your year,
make and model of car. If it does not fit, you should be able to return it.

@NIQU19 You’re welcome, glad I could help.
incase anyone is woundering you dont need to take the whole glovebox off,
you can just reach through to unhook with it on
@AAxx993093kdkdk alright thanks for your help
How do u take out the lower dash piece on the drivers side???
is their an auxiliary input or an rca input on the radio?
