My 96 Saab 900II . Has a very hard clutch and the rope keeps breaking. Any idea?

You will never be able to pass a smog test without the clutch assist spring. The computer will stop every monitor reset because it thinks the clutch is being ever so slightly engaged.
Yesterday I lost the spring, panicked a bit, googled, calmed down and drove on. Today I wanted to use my cruise control, wondered why it didn't work at all, and here I am with the rest of y'all xD

Be sure to pull up clutch pedal with some force, you barely need to pull spring tension to get it in…wish I knew that earlier!
